Hypothesis
In
comparing long-term winter and spring averages of temperature, precipitation,
wind speed and relative humidity, we think each region in
Based
on our experiences, we think precipitation will have the best winter-to-spring
correlations because normally wet winters are followed by wet springs.
We
also think the Coastal Plain and Outer Banks will have the highest correlations
of any region, because the coastal region does not have the large differences
in elevation that are found in the mountains.
After
learning about ENSO (El Niño/Southern Oscillation), we predict that the Coastal
Plain and Outer Banks will have the best correlations for temperature and
precipitation.
